I was a little late to the birthday party of Ms. Kahlo, but saw this fantastic article and couldn't resist sharing with my fellow Meefs. How To Be More Like Frida Kahlo, As Told By Frida Kahlo Today I ran across another fun tidbit about Frida's old stompin' ground and knew it was deserving of the blue...........Frida Kahlo’s home.

When I was a kid, my family almost had a chance to be caretakers in her home. I've always loved Frida.

I hope the exit is joyful and hope never to return.

I've been to Frida's lovely and odd home. It was moving and strange, seeing things like her paintbrushes still sitting out. I felt like a time traveler.

I found Frida's home to be so inspiring. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been, because it just radiated her spirit and art.

Whenever I hesitate to add some weird item to my home decor, I remind myself that Frida probably would have done it and hang up that 65th piece of plaster fruit.

Once when I was a little kid I asked my aunt why Chabela Vargas would sing Macorina, a love song dedicated to a woman.

She said that Chabela was singing to Frida, and that was a good enough expalanation for an 8 year old.

When I visited the house years later I had Macorina on my walkman when I saw this picture in a book. It was magical.
