You guys have the best trade shows in the world.
It's also great that the US has a healthy small food manufacturing industry. In Sweden the legal requirements for running a food related business are so strict, cumbersome and byzantine that people just don't bother.
"There are brands that actually have an ingredient called rapeseed oil. Which is terrifying. No one wants to feed their kid something with rapeseed oil."

Rapeseed oil is just what canola oil was before it got selectively bred to be low in erucic acid and rebranded. It seems weird to bring that up as something scary, lots of people have canola oil at home.

A friend of mine and some friends of his have a semi-spurious "food distribution company" that they use to get tickets to this show every year. The photos of the stuff he brings home at the end alone are staggering.

I would happily chow down on at least half of the "weird foods" on that thrillist list. What the heck is weird about coffee popsicles? Or mango lassi frozen yogurt?
Maybe not the mango flavoured seaweed chips though.

Oh my goodness, pork dust (crumbled, presumably flavoured, pork rinds) is brilliant and will proudly share cupboard space with my tub of pork fluff/pork floss.

Omg, great post. Worth it for the "snacks" link alone. I'm on a restricted diet at the moment for some health issues so this was a pleasantly vicarious thing to read.
And Covered Bridge chips are wonderful! I bought some lobster flavoured ones for my Nova Scotian friend. They were actually really good.
