I had to take off my glasses I was crying so hard with laughter at the first one. And "how is babby formed" is one of the great videos of our time.

I'll admit that I laughed too, but I'm also horrified. Some of the people being quoted are pregnant but clearly have no idea what that entails. Some appear to be so close to illiterate that they will have a hard time even searching for the information they need (Yahoo Answers doesn't count). They don't have the tools for even discussing some of the most important decisions they'll make in their lives.

There were tears, but I know not if they were tears of joy or sadness.

I came across this video laaaaate last night and was maybe chuckling a little bit at the beginning but then that smash cut to the "th'fuuh?" painting and the follow-up of STARCH MASKS just killed me. My dog even came to see why I was laughing so hard.

So on the one hand it is legitimately tragic that so many people who appear to be native speakers of American English do so with such limited fluency and that American sex education has failed them so terribly. OTOH, around here we are often truely sorry for people's lots and our dogs often wonder how is din-dins formed.

But yeah, funny, but also mean-spirited. It's harder because making fun of normal-or-average people who are making stupid jackasses of themselves seems okay, but making fun of people with actual intellectual disabilities isn't, and some of the ignorance on display here combined with the marginal literacy makes these instances blurry.

Some of these are pretty clearly not asked by native English speakers, they're speakers of other languages trying to ask in English because, well, Yahoo Answers is mostly in English. The use of roughly equivalent but wrong translations like "my circle" makes that pretty obvious.

If laughing at "bregant" is wrong, I can't possibly be right.

(I'm also donating a little extra this month to Planned Parenthood for my sins and encourage any other scolds or guilt-ridden to do the same.)

I'm trying really hard to find a scenario where I can use "Bregant" on some topic regarding the UK.

I suspect a lot of these questions are fake and are just goofing. Preganananat, for instance, is not an honest mistake.

I still love it though.

Oh god...this would be so much funnier if it weren't like the first 10 minutes of Idiocracy come hideously to life in the real world. Like, almost to the point of "Ok, you want to get bergnernt? Here, take these birth-control pills. They work like a charm."

I'd like to think we're not laughing at the people making the typos so much as we are the baffling incoherence of the typos themselves. Much the same reason I love video game glitches. I'm not thinking "wow what fucking idiot coded this?" as I laugh cry. At least, that is what is so hilarious to ME. However, yes, I did feel a bit guilty given the context.
