Guided Medication.

Mod note: Just as a quick note: "Guided meditation" is cool as an art/music piece, so leaving this based on that ... but actual election discussion belongs in the election thread. If it turns out to be too difficult to discuss this without making it a politics thread, it's understandable (really, I do understand), but we'll probably close this and ask for it to be posted in the other thread. Thank you, everyone, in advance!

Ok, first video no explanation necessary. Second video, wtf? Am I missing context?

Interesting to know that bots make those supercuts now. I guess un(der)paid interns will have to be assigned other tedious, thankless work.

Second video, wtf? Am I missing context?

Somebody was playing around with video footage of the debates. They discovered that, if you isolate bits of speech and slow them down, they sound a lot like the sort of New Age meditation CDs that one sees for sale alongside Tibetan singing bowls and Alex Grey tapestries. Because that's a funny contrast with the banal and decidedly non-consciousness-expanding debates, they made a video. #explainingthejoke

Whether you’re struggling to get gig tickets or being fat-shamed by an app – AI is calling the shots. Weren’t these algorithms supposed to be on our side, not making thing worse?

Grauniad's "never change" bot hard at work.

In this video he seems happier than usual. I can think of at least one explanation for that.

First video triggered intense deja vu which, when explored, uncovered this memory.

I just watched both of these from start to finish. I'm now planning to vote for Trump and just prior to the inevitable implosion of humanity, I would like the second video beamed to the closest exoplanet that is likeliest to harbor an intelligent civilization. I think they'll get the gist of what happened here.

It's funny that that supercut of Trump is mostly him imitating other people saying his name with disgust ("These damn liberals keep saying That Donald Trump, he's a lunatic") so the supercut gives the effect that Trump kind of hates himself and the name Trump.

To the tune of the William Tell Overture:

Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Donald Trump Trump Trump
Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Donald Trump Trump Trump
Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Donald Trump Trump Trump
Donald TRUUUUUUUUUMP
Donald Trump Trump Trump

Language Log has run countless bits on the meaninglessness of trying to measure narcissism in a politician by counting the number of first person pronouns used in speeches, but surely speaking of oneself in the third person says something. How many times does Hilary Clinton say "Hilary Clinton"?

I keep hoping that someday he will accidentally say his own name three times in a row and disappear in a *poof*.

He has to be tricked into saying it backwards, and I am disappointed that Clinton didn't attempt this during the debates.

"Mr. Trump, the American people want to know why you won't address the continuing allegations of impropriety with the Pmurt scandal?"

"Pmurt? What's that?"

*poof*
