Awww, I love cats so much. Thanks for the recent posts Johnny, they have been a salve. I would object to the characterization of awkward because cats.

It's the least I can do after scolding you guys about Death all last month.

See, this was what I was talking about in the sleeping dogs post. Dogs can be artistically awkward, but you need the bone type which evaporates when you fall asleep to reach true mastery in that art.

(My thanks as well.)

Caaaaaats. Whhhy are you so ridiculous. <3

The Advantage Taker. For this you need someone with a broken leg for the full "you can't move and you're warm, this is great, Imma just going to stretch out across your lap, don't mind if I do' feeling. (My brother had the broken leg, my late and much missed mog had the advantage. I think he was quite sad when my brother's leg healed.)

Also: The Greenhouse - you just need a seedling box in the bottom of a small greenhouse and you too can grow a sleeping cat.

Awww <333

I'll have to find the picture, but I had an abyssinian that I got from the pound who was the longest cat in the entire world. He used to stretch our around my feet in an arc when I stood at the sink to get ready in the morning. I called him rainbow kitty.

My cat has his own box in the bottom of the mini greenhouse outside. His predecessor used to sleep in the same place. One day we moved the greenhouse as we were cleaning the wall behind and the cat came and just sat where his little boxhouse should have been but at this point was just open air dirt. He sat there looking at us as if some great injustice had been visited on him, but not actually moving.

Fixed. (Though "Dignity" not being public made for some interesting meta-commentary).

It is an error to believe cats have needs.

They have DEMANDS.

apart from the issue of having one's face in one's own butt, disk cat is on to something clever. that looks like a minimum surface area configuration and should be warmest.

Wow, the Buzzfeed story seems to have been copied from or perhaps one might say inspired by an old website that was named the silly sleeping pose Olympics and is now gone (if you search it, it comes up, but the domain turns out to be for sale).

Which is weird because I also thought the porn in the woods post would be a reference to the early, long ask mefi thread on that subject, but it didn't come up until quite late in the discussion. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I originally found that silly sleeping pose site via mefi, but am too lazy to search it right now.

No one shows a cat who sleeps on his head like Charlie. My late, 18 year old cat was known for sleeping, upright, on his head. And occasionally falling off of things during deep sleep.

I hate to break it to you, but it seems Charlie's actually a tribble, not a cat.
