Google's "AI Experiments" include several different ways that you can use machine learning to brighten up your life. Get Giorgio Cam to rap to you about pictures you take with your phone or webcam. Sick of CAPTCHAs? Turn the tables and see if the computer can guess your drawing with Quick, Draw! Or satisfy a need you never knew you had and make a totally sick drum beat out of fart noises, camera shutters and tiger roars with Infinite Drum Machine.

I just got got myself a visit from a Terminator after going with the 13-year old take on "finger", didn't I ?

The image guesser seems to have a real hard time with things that work in context or as parts, like finger, toe, eraser, water slide. Also tough to distinguish between truck and fire truck, cello and violin, crayon and pencil. Finally it doesn't like my toilets, but maybe I just draw crappy toilets.

Well, this just ate up 20 minutes. XI

The bird toy is great fun if you swoop through dozens at a go: the mouse allows you to sort of drift through all these calls to create a cacophony. There are some weird looking birds, man.

Got mired into the Infinite Drum Machine. Impressive and amusing... but I'm blinded by my jealousy of everyone who got paid to work on it.

I just don't apparently know enough about what a basketball looks like to draw one. (No idea what the lines do; mine just looks like a baseball.)

I bet that drawing AI is ace at filtering out crudely scrawled phalluses.

This morning, Q13 FOX News anchor Kaci Aitchison decided to play some Quick, Draw! on television.

Live.

One of the words they got was 'Cannon', and, well, things got very interesting, very quickly. (She drew a cannon, all right....)

The Infinite Drum Machine looks more useful (from a musical production point of view) if one downloads it, installs it locally and feeds it with all the myriad drum hits and samples sitting around on one's hard drive.

Part of the audio analysis code seems to be built on LibROSA, which seems like an interesting Python library for those interested in music/audio analysis; definitely something to play around with.

Yeah that drum machine is nifty but I don't get where the artificial intelligence comes in. The spectral sorting of the sounds seems like straightforward computation. If it could tell me "Dude your beats kinda suck" now that would be helpful.

Quick, Draw seems to get confused by attempts to represent things realistically - you've got to first figure out how all the other people who it's trained on so far would draw it, then draw it that way. Not sure why I was so slow to figure that out...
