Is "noodle with broccoli shoved up hairy ass" an Croatian saying? Oddly specific if you ask me.

I wonder if they block all of Tumblr? I actually used to think it was all a porn site.

It's funny, because despite how easy it seems to suggest this ("When you feel negative about your work, turn it around and feel positive instead!"), it's really, really, really encouraging to actually read it.

No, I can get to most of Tumblr, but the web security contractor we use is super strict about content categorization, down to sub-domains. I just browsed through the rest of his tumblr (at home right now) though and can't find anything objectionable.

Not/But is fun, but ToZo's art is ... extraordinary. Thanks for this.

It's almost the advice version of show-don't-tell. I quite liked it.

This is great. I have tried on and off to do strictly art-art (as opposed to functional design-art) forever, but never showed anyone , never was happy, etc.

But then (admittedly in a paxil-induced dissociative state), I just got so fed up with even the mere concept of judgement and expectations. Especially those imposed because of woman-hood. So I just started drawing. And, to get my point across, the art was ugly. Intentionally ugly. And, it turns out...I liked it? I was happy with it. And so I put it on facebook, and other people liked it, too.

It was a liberating feeling to just say fuck it and draw your anger and just, get it on the page, and have it be good, and right, and what you wanted.

Tonči aka lung_bug! Thank you for this post! I love his work but didn't know he dropped a new comic.

Fun fact: he's been drawing online since he was a kid. Here's his sketchbook from 2003— lots of broken links to images, but I love reading the comments of 17 year old Tonči:
ac_osorio: yeah [creative burnout] happens to me (you wouldn't believe how often and the heat here isn't helping either) but i have a way of dealing with it. break the routine, do something completely different. read a book or something. as i said, my favorite part of doing this is inspiring people and making them draw
aidan: it's always hard forcing oneself to work. the start is rough but it gets easier afterwards. i didn't set myself an aim to draw 10 hours straight from the start. two years ago, when i started doing this more seriously, i said myself "hey, let's see if i can pull off five pages every day". and so i bought a small a5 notepad and started kicking at it. it worked! after a while you want to do more and honestly, i just became addicted. i feel utterly useless when i don't draw. imho everyone should ask themselves WHY are they doing it and HOW hard do they want it.
jester: hey, thanks for stopping by and for the nice words. and about my life... i'm not sure if you know i'm 17, so i still live with my parents. last year of highschool now. that takes care of the formalities like cooking and stuff.also i don't have much of a social life, but it was a sacrifice that had to be made. sleeping too sometimes, especially during school. past semester i slept 3-4 hours max daily for many months, and then just blacked out during weekends. holidays rule for drawing and i'm trying to use them the best i can when school starts the sessions will cut to some 8-9 hours max, tho. drawing 1-2 hours per day is a fair amount of drawing time, but if i were you i'd try to push it a bit further. mullins once said "MAKE TIME". but then again i'm still a kid
Jesus... I'm going to go draw!

I don't know why they couldn't come up with a normal turn of phrase instead, like we have in English. Whoever came up with that term really screwed the pooch.
