I continue to be disappointed that said concerts do not, in fact, take place upon a tiny desk.

This is pretty awesome. I wonder if there are lyric translations anywhere?

Here's an interview with Alsarah and several other Sudanese musicians: "4 Artists From the New School of Sudanese Music Speak on Their Search for Home & Identity."

There's more Alsarah at YouTube. I especially love Habibi Taal.

Besides what she's done with the Nubatones she's also recorded an album with Debruit, a bit more of an electronic style producer, but still with music with roots in Sudan. For instance Jibal Alnuba.

And if you like that version of Jibal Alnuba, you might enjoy the more traditional version which you can hear (partially mixed with other things) here, from DJ /rupture's Minesweeper Suite.

It's the concert that is tiny, not the desk !
