(Shouldn't there be a corrupted "M" at the end of "DOO"?)

And if you're busy doing other things on your actual computer, you can run it on your keyboard!

Honestly, I'm waiting for someone to port Doom to this railway crossing gate in Flora, Illinois.

Doom 2016 was a surprise hit for me. It has great gameplay mechanics and it's just a blast to play.

Doom... is good...

For those who played it when it came out and haven't gone back, they've added a hilariously fun full weapons and power ups score attack mode, where you race through levels trying to headshot your way to victory.

There's also a whole lot of meaningless multiplayer bullshit that no one cares about!

I dunno, I've had a fair bit of fun in MP Freezetag. Have yet to party a SnapMap though.

Yeah, I worked on that. You can thank me for the bullshit Kinetic Mine in multiplayer. You're welcome!

Doom is very literally the game that got me to play first-person shooters as a genre. I didn't grow up playing them, so when i tried the CODs, etc, they just felt like impossible chaos to me. I didn't have the right reflexes, everything was brown and visually dull, everybody was a dude...there were just a lot of signifiers that this was Not For Me.

But my dude picked up DOOM 2016 and happened to be playing it in front of me, and it just looked like so much fun. No faffing around with weapons and armor constantly, just running around and madly shooting ALL THE DEMONS, while cackling gleefully.

So I tried it, and it was so straightforward to pick up that within about half an hour I was pretty decent and bumped the difficulty rating up from whatever the lowest one is. It ended up being the first game i've ever completed with 100% achievements, I loved it so much.

I was bummed enough when I finished it that I jumped on Reddit and asked for recommendations of other games that had similar traits to it. (I got a bunch of different responses, but most of them started with some variation on 'Yeah, it's kind of a singular game in how good it is, you're not really going to find something with such an emphasis on FUN, strong single-player compaign and a lack of HOO RA MANLY MAN NO GIRLS ALLOWED sort of stuff').

In conclusion, DOOM 2016 is the greatest, please harass anyone you can to bring out another one like it, hanoixan, I'll buy that on release day.
