A star whose passing we missed earlier this month, Fox was famous for his roles in Bewitched and Hogan's Heroes.

Oh, hell. He was the go-to "British Guy" in damned near every 60's tv sitcom. Definitely a piece of my childhood media consumption.

Because my drunken British Officer-type schtick owes as much to him as Graham Chapman.

"We have dressed in our best, and are prepared to go down like gentlemen. [pause] But, we would like a brandy."

I've decided I'm going to face 2017 like Archibald Gracie via Bernard Fox.

Oh, hell, I knew about this, but thought, oh, I'm sure I don't have to worry about Metafilter making an obit post about such a great actor, oh well.

I love the quote at the end of the article:

“These pills will do the trick,” Mr. Fox says.

“Antibiotics?” Mr. York asks.

“Antibiotics,” Mr. Fox says, coolly confident in his concoction, “only bore a cold to death.”

Oh, I so liked Bernard Fox! His appearances in the 1970s Columbos were great.

Damn, he died in Van Nuys? Shouldn't happen to anyone.
He was such a memorable part of my childhood.
