Early on in this, I somehow decided that Ham looks a lot like Phoenix Wright (I mean, isn't he totally objecting at 0:41?) and now I can't stop seeing it. Anyway, now I want a Hamilton-themed legal video game.

The youtube owner has a few of these. I'm in love. Thank you.

I like the changing up of the race of the historical characters. Clever!

I'm.....interpreting this as sarcasm about how the anime style kind of erases a lot of the subtleties in facial features? Which...I mean, I definitely noticed, and mostly it made me wish this was a in color.

These hamilton animatics are really really good. I burned out on the cast album last year but seeing how teens interpret them gives them new life.

Zach, I was also getting a strong Phoenix Wright vibe. I think it was the frilly coats and coffee cups.

Yeah. I totally get that the time commitment required is already pretty high, but I'd love to see more colour animatics. This one of Non-Stop has little pops of colour, but that's not really the same thing.

My current favourite Hamilton animatic is this one for The Room Where It Happens, which is entirely in black and white, but which I love because of the dancing doorway sequence and for its accurate portrayal of Jefferson's high levels of sass.

I like the very anime influenced GalactiBun animatics, like Non-Stop and Burn.

I still want a full length animated feature of Hamilton more than I want a live action film adaptation. The transitions between songs work on stage but would be jarring in a live action film, film musicals like a lot of dialogue to connect musical numbers... but omg an animated feature with animated visual interludes using a synthesis of revolutionary era American design and symbols and hip-hop's visual vocabulary? I want that so much.

I like this animatic/storyboard of the moment time freezes in The World Was Wide Enough. Very clever transitions. I think a live action film could work, were it very stylized, but an animated one would be better. You could probably get the entire original cast more easily, too... especially for the dual roles.

That shot where Hamilton runs to the bow of the ship and Burr and the bullet appear behind him is perfect.

Maybe if there isn't an official animated adaptation, Hamilton could get the Star Wars Uncut treatment with fans animating short scenes. I wouldn't be surprised if you could cut together a full show out of the animatics and storyboards that have already been made!

This is also a great illustration of how sotryboarding is a very specific and difficult skill, one which may or may not have anything to with with having the cleanest possible drawings or the most appealing style. The drawings in this animatic aren't as polished or as immediately likeable as those I've seen in some other videos of this kind, but the narrative instincts and visual storytelling are really exceptional. And I love that. I love that storyboarding is one of those skill sets where an artist who might be overlooked in a more static context can really shine.
