Great violence has been done to the art of poetry today

It's not clear if the corpse belonged to Erato or Calliope, but alongside the body there was discovered a poem celebrating the inauguration of Donald J Trump, and it is... amazing.

Although the poet is not officially affiliated with the campaign, the encomium pays tribute to Trump's mother (neé MacLeod) and her birthplace on the Hebridean Isle of Lewis. Notable is its mention of the 44th POTUS as a "tyrant." At least there is fertile ground to be trod with Highlander references. [SL Independent]

I was just saying elsewhere that it's impossible to name the most embarrassing kind of American cultural appropriation, but ostentatious fake Scottishness is mighty hard to beat.

So this is just "some random dude wrote a shitty poem about Trump," then?
