Elaine Paige (Cats, Chess, a zillion other things) sings the songs Queen in a 1988 album titled simply The Queen Album. [YouTube playlist, so so sorry about the commercials]
'This video is not available', which is the shame as the premise sounds pretty good.

Ahhhhhh thanks for this. My mum listens to Paige's show religiously and she also loves Queen, so now I have the perfect obscure "I'm reasonably convinced you don't already own this" gift for her upcoming birthday.

These are great. "My Melancholy Blues" is one of my favorite Queen songs but there aren't many versions of it out there by Queen or otherwise. They're all great but this is worth it for that one alone to me.
This is either total 80s schmaltz or utterly brilliant or both.
I'm going with both because 80s schmaltz is itself great.
