A cartoon rabbit is more savvy than most voters.

Also, those mice are wicked.

I LOVE BAMSE. Oh man. I hadn't thought of the strip in years.

Bamse!!! Right there with you, kariebookish - it's been a long time, but fond memories... Oh, now I'm all nostalgic for the comic strips of my childhood - Sølvpilen, Fantomet, Donald. Back when Donald wasn't a 4-letter word.

An Illustrated Book of Bad Arguments has been among the nephew's favorites since he was 6 or so.

BEWARE: EARWORM. Presenting.... "Minihopp."

That was pretty horrible :-) Is that a bunch of chipmunks in the background?

(For people who grew up with the real thing and just got their childhood ruined and would like some of it back, here's the intro and a collection of sound effects from Andréasson's old animations (1966-72, cirka))

Holy shit, JHarris. I've been here 15 years, and I've never seen that. That's amazing.

Sølvpilen, Fantomet, Donald.

For bystanders, the comics mentioned are Zilverpijl, The Phantom and Donald Duck.

Fun fact: The Phantom is blue in the Nordic countries, and, just like with Donald Duck, most of the material is produced locally, currently by media behemoth Egmont.

Back when Donald wasn't a 4-letter word.

Luckily, Donald is called "Kalle" in Swedish so the younger generation there is safe (as are the finns and the danes).

Bamse is the best! I have some audio files of the original animations that I listen to for comfort sometimes. Brings me right back to childhood.

I love Bamse because underneath the stories, it's almost always about helping each other and being tolerant and inclusive. It's also not the first time that Bamse reflects the outside world and tackles current topics. Ten years ago, Lille Skutt's brother fell in love with another boy-rabbit, and recently they added a lesbian couple to the story. (Lille Skutt is the main rabbit character.) I love that they are reflecting the real world for kids.

Also, I always wanted a "food and sleep clock" like Skalman has... Imagine!

My FB timeline has lots of "The day the world discovered Bamse!" articles being shared right now, lol.

I didn't say it was a good earworm, heh. It's gotten stuck in my head once in a while though, so I figure it qualifies.

I love Bamse because underneath the stories, it's almost always about helping each other and being tolerant and inclusive.

Carl Bildt, conservative prime minister in the early nineties, was a huge fan and gave a Bamse tie to Bill Clinton, on advice of his then 4-year old daughter. The zealots in the conservative youth wing were rather unhappy ("that bear is clearly a communist!!!").

Here's a photo of Bildt and some conservative colleagues from the late nineties (Bildt is the one to the left, not entirely sure what the guy in the middle is doing). Note the ties.

That makes two of us. I favorited that so hard, I shattered the phone.

Never did find out where to buy that walrus cock though.

Same here! I've never seen that comic before either! I got a lot of laughs per page though :)
