Shove-it-Helsinki was recently updated. Miika Saksi is credited for pioneering the Lo-Fi Grunge style. He has been working on the web since he was 15, way back in '95!

Here's a web archive snapshot of his now defunct smallprint.net. A great old interview with Miika from SurfStation. K10K's mschmidt calls him a Finnish boy wonder.

A fellow Finn done good!

But I don't see the appeal of more graphic schmeck - I know it was all the rage back in 95, but do we need to see it anymore?

I wouldn't quite call it schmeck - that's a portfolio. And a damned good one.

Yes, I agree it's a great portfolio, and his work is excellent. What appeals to some need not appeal to all, design is subjective. Me like Miika.

I always like to add more portfolios of this quality to my bookmarks... Thank you, riffola, and keep them coming.

Ok... now I'm depressed. I have been at this for just as long, we started at the same age, and I still suck at graphics.
I suppose I don't have the "eye." I guess I'll just stick to the coding.

I've liked all of Miika's sites even if I didn't know his name. The "Lo-fi Grunge Style Pioneer" title goes to David Carson, though.
