Mia the beagle takes on the Westminster Agility course

...with the panache that only a beagle can muster, breaking the course record* by finishing in 66.24 seconds (82.24 with faults). The video tells her tail.

*Not that record, the other one on the other end of the scale.

What a pup!!! Her "girl plz" moment where she looks directly into the camera was A+

There's some quality videos in the previous discussion of dog agility, including a blur called Puzzle, a slightly slower Mastiff and a husky who just wants to play.

How about a Golden vs. an obedience course?

A fine product of Will Ferrell's Amazing Canine Training Course.

She's a good dog, Brent.

(For real, she actually did much better than I was expecting, given how distracting the audience must be. What a good dog! I would like to rub her belly, and then I would like to watch a sports anime about dog agility.)

So cute! And also quite good in the grand scheme of things. I went to a regional competition a few years ago, and there were some dogs that got lost for minutes at a time. As a cuteness factor, they also adjusted the height of the poles for the height of the dogs. For a papillon, they just put the poles on the ground for it to daintily step over.

Beagles are the best dogs. I miss ours.

(BTW, the fix is in to give BiS to last year's runner-up, the German Shepherd)

I can't imagine either of our beagles ever paying attention long enough to complete even one or two obstacles.

For real, she actually did much better than I was expecting

Well, ok, she didn't keep up with the border collies, but who does? And she made it all the way. Compare with the kind of chaos you'll find on YouTube: Crufts, World Championship. There's a lot more...

We love watching dog agility because no matter what happens, the dogs are always so happy.

"Don't be a beagle, don't be a beagle," has got to be the best sports commentary I've ever heard.

Hey, article writer, she's not old; she's just the right age for a beagle to focus on any one task except, maybe chasing rabbit.

I like the part where she stops and looks dead into the crowd, like, "What. Do I amuse you?"
