Is "Green" Al Gore Back?In a NY Times Op-ed he slams the Bush "energy policy": "Under the presidency of George W. Bush, the environmental and energy policies of our government are completely dominated by a group of current and former oil and chemical company executives who are trying to dismantle America's ability to force them to reduce the extremely dangerous levels of pollution in the earth's atmosphere."

Does anyone even care if he's "back" anyway? Seems like he's come "back" five times already, and nobody's really paid any any of the times.

Works for me, if he sticks with it. But I'm afraid it is probably more like "I'm going to say what I really mean... until I get the nomination."

Well, yes I am, although I was thinking more along darukaru's lines when I posted. It would settle things once and for all, regardless of the winner.

No, it would just be settled once and for all.

The only way it would be "settled" is if we had a complete recount the first time around. 4 years later, the state of the union is completely different and both sides would make more excuses after the results were posted. It's over...both sides need to get over it. Fix the voting irregularities and try to make the election fair, but please...Gore vs Bush in 2004 won't settle anything. Wait wait, my fault, it will settle it for people who haven't realized that the election was over 18 months ago.

gore spoke at the florida democratic convention and sounded very much like a candidate, people at the convention seemed very happy. the speech was nice too. on the national side though there is still debate about whether gore should run or maybe someone like John Edwards, people seem to think he's young and attractive. maybe compared to clinton... anyway, my hope is that the dems don't lose the senate right now :)

I like Al Green. He's one of my favorite singers.

Al Green is a big Gore supporter. I saw him sing in Memphis at rally for Gore. I got a kick out of it -- the crowd really believed in "audience participation." Hence why I saw Al Green and didn't hear him.

I'd rather Edwards do a better job of being my senator for a few more election cycles. NC has a lot of Jesse Helms to make up for, and I don't like seeing Edwards diverted by a presidential bid. As much as I'd like to, I won't vote for him if he runs.

Say, as long as we're on elections, does anyone have any opinions on instant runoff voting? I discovered this last night and it seems pretty interesting.
