There's a well-known case of an individual dying while soaking in a bathtub whose water was being warmed by an immersion heater. The death was not discovered for days, by which time the person was rendered soup.

These images remind me of that, plus a lot of body horror during recent surgery.

That said, they really are beautifully done. We're all just bags of flesh after all.
