Is this interview in conjunction with the Criterion Collection release?

Ha, interesting interview! Never seen or heard of this before. He'll always be the star of Sliders to me (well, "a" star of, if you count Gimli).

He's really "a" star of both Jerry Maguire and Stand By Me as well. Before I clicked through, I ran down the casts of both movies in my head, and he was not in the top five of either. And apparently he wasn't even "the" star of Kangaroo Jack. If that's not a sick burn, I don't know what is.

Checking the Wiki article after reading the FPP article informed me that Kangaroo Jack took home the "Best Fart" Blimpie in the Kids' Choice Awards.

Man, this movie sounds abysmal from beginning to end, apart from the fun that both leads seemed to have in making it. It sort of reminds me of that movie where Bobcat Goldthwait was an executive who's befriend by John Candy, voicing a talking horse. Candy didn't voice any of his lines until after the first final cut of the movie proved unsuccessful with test audiences, and they essentially reshot and the whole thing. Candy ignored the script he was given, and ended up improvising most of the lines.

One friday night in graduate school we rented this film and took turns photographing each other licking the television screen at the approximate location of the kangaroo's genitals.

Yeah, when I think Jerry O'Connell, I also think Sliders. That, and his turn on MTV Cribs.

Tweeted link to this interview with the comment that, hey, Jerry O'Connell sounded like a pretty cool dude. Guess who was a fan of said tweet.

Not My Secret Identity ?
I'm afraid that predates my Jerry O'Connell exposure. In my defense, I was 7 years old and not in Canada when it debuted. Clearly someone *cough cough supercres* should alert him to these deep cuts, though. Also, three seasons?!

I'd forgotten about My Secret Identity, but apparently just seeing it mentioned gets the theme song stuck in my head.

What was it like working with Michael Shannon before the world became aware of his talents.
I was able to recognize Michael Shannon's immense talent immediately. I've been a Shannon fan since day one. It was interesting seeing him interact with Christopher Walken because Walken intimidated me, but he did not intimidate Shannon. They'd just go toe to toe, and you could just tell he was destined for greatness.

Need behind the scenes details - video preferred - of Shannon/Walken STAT!

I'm old enough to remember when this was released and EVERY trailer featured nothing but the rapping kangaroo, which was probably the entirety of the kangaroos screen time. I'm sure they were just betting that parents would just take their kids to see the "cute kangaroo movie" with no idea that the movie was originally written as an R-rated movie about mobsters.
