That's just beautifully edited.

Bonus (from wikipedia) "Edgar Wright has stated that he first had the idea for the film in 1994, however he adapted the film's original planned beginning into a 2003 music video he directed for Mint Royale's "Blue Song"."

Somewhat different US version of the trailer.

If it weren't Edgar Wright behind the camera, I'd groan at all the heist movie cliches in either version of the trailer but I trust him to do something interesting with them.

This is not my usual cup of gas, but it looks terrific.

Oh, not an actual baby. Well, that's a little disappointing.

That one continuous shot at 1:43 is great.

Subaru: Inexpensive. And built to stay that way.

They call me Baby Driver and once upon a pair of wheels, I hit the road and I'm gone...

Edgar is such a student of action films, I'm not surprised he is finally making an original dramatic one. The Cornetto movies taught us that he truly loves the tropes.

This is tonally a little all over the place but Edgar Wright completely has my number and I'm into it.

All the trailers just make me giggle. I'm so looking forward to this.

With this and Free Fire, we just need one more idiosyncratic British director to take on American crime genre tropes with laughs and we'd have enough of a trend for a think piece.

☑ Edgar Wright
☑ Heist movie
☑ Hella stupid car stunts

I am ridiculously excited to see this film.

I would also take a version of the trailer set to Devo's cover of Satisfaction.

It's gonna be a brilliantly executed film, and I'm also probably not going to be able to get past the whole female character who only exists to be imperiled thing.

I'm just so tired of it. It's as though I was given a limited supply of fucks to give and, after a lifetime of this shit, my fucks cupboard is close to bare, and I just cannot spare any for this kind of bullshit anymore. It's not worth it.

And when it comes to storytelling, it is, honestly, a failure of art.

I was expecting a sequel to Baby Boss, to be honest.

Or a spin off of Daryl Hannah's character from Kill Bill?

It's gonna be okay, I guess, but is it gonna be Fast and Furious in Space?

Going to wait for Edgar Wright's Toonces.

I feel like this is the closest we'll get to an Edgar Wright-directed Fast & Furious movie.

Great trailer, not sure if I need to see the movie now.

I've heard a lot of buzz about this movie, and one of the things about it that isn't necessarily apparent from this trailer is that the soundtrack features very prominently in the movie, to the point where all the action is synced / choreographed to the beats of the music. It apparently makes it both a very fun and exciting movie and also a movie that has a real benefit to a cinema viewing experience. I haven't seen it, this is based off of the opinions of several pop culture podcasters whom I basically trust.

I am so Here For This that I may just stay right here in this thread until the movie comes out.

Something encouraging is its release was moved from August, which can be a studio dumping ground, up to June, which is right in the midst of studio tentpoles.

I think I already saw this movie a few years ago with Ryan Gosling. It was called something different back then...

dazed_one: Not the Evolutions 8 and 9 that were this particular Impreza's contemporaries. Those were based on nasty slab-sided penalty boxes, and the factory body kit for both the Evo 8 and Evo 9 scream "I like my commute, but it'd be so much better if I could be randomly pulled over by the cops for roadworthiness checks several times a week."

But I'm not partisan; when the next-gen Impreza WRX that replaced the hawkeye model in the trailer was first unveiled in '07, I threw up in my mouth a little bit. That's an ugly car.

That trailer was beautifully edited and just plain fun. I've watched it several times already. I'm really hoping the waitress character is more than a walking McGuffin, though, because I don't think those things would hold my interest for a full two hours.

I hope Radar Love is used in the movie itself, any other song would be an anticlimax.

Radar Love actually shows up on the ipod screen, so that's promising.

I bet Wright can do better than blindly bumbling into that trap. I think he's a smart filmmaker who enjoys playing with tropes; the damsel-in-distress trope might just be one he'll surprise you with. Here's hoping.

There was also that much earlier movie, Miss Daisy Driver

So I had a hankering to listen to Radar Love and man, does everyone in the audience look bored as hell. It's bizarre. It's like they were instructed to stare into the middle distance.

I'm super stoked to see this.
Drive, The Getaway, Bullit, and Run Loal Run come to mind.
I like movies with lots of frenetic movement, apparently.
That Edgar Wright wrote\directed only makes the anticipation that much better.
