This has been just about my favorite moment of the new season -- I'm only 2/3rds in.

Easily in the top five MST3K moments of all time. OF ALL TIME.

KROPERMANN IS A MONSTER FROM LUXEMBOURG

I'm finding that the songs in the new series (very much like the original series) are very hit or miss for me. This one, however, is incredibly awesome.

On a similar note, I think the instrumental versions of the old songs played at the "commercial breaks" in the new series is perhaps my favorite call back.

Speaking of monsters, did I ever tell you guys about the time I was squirrel hunting on mushrooms and saw El Chupacabra? No? Totally happened. I know what I saw.

I think "squirrel hunting on mushrooms" is going to be my new go-to excuse for anything questionable I might ever do.

WHAT HAPPENED TO GYPSY'S VOICE

WHAT HAPPENED TO GYPSY'S VOICE

Directly? New voice actress.
In the show's internal world? They explained near the beginning of the episode (this scene is from roughly the middle of S11E01) that Jonah did systems upgrades.

It's also very much worth noting who actually wrote this song, as well as others for the new season: none other than Paul Sabourin and Greg "Storm" DiCostanzo.

That was great. Reminds me of De La Soul.

This scene killed at the LA Premiere. During the Q and A after Joel talked about how there were a ton of props making it was a challenging scene, and they did it in episode one to put the cast through their paces and show their range.

In response to LMM's tweet, Paul linked to the Genius entry, for anyone who wants the annotated lyrics.

Oh, yeah, that's totally fair and makes sense (especially the part where they get an actual woman to play a female part).

But I will admit that I miss ridiculous falsetto Gypsy a little bit.

Oh jeez, the primary annotator for that song... is Paul and Storm. That's awesome.

Surely "squirrel-hunting on mushrooms" is a figure of speech for a particular mental state, sort of like "surfing in Nebraska" or something.

I assume "squirrel-hunting on mushrooms" was how comics-genius Ryan North gained inspiration for his Eisner Award Nominated work (and I mean his work on Jughead).

It's a euphemism for masturbation, like everything else on the internet.

I had never heard of the impundulu before. This has been educational.

We all liked it when we hit 1101 in MST Club a few weeks ago. (You guys do realize we watch a couple of episodes a week together, right?)

Time out and hold the phone.

Do you mean to tell me that MST3K did REPTILICUS???

Yes! It's an absolute standout!

I think I put it in the Fanfare thread... but... the song that this seems to be spoofing is: I-76 by G Love and Special Sauce.

Okay, here's the thing about Reptilicus - one of our local TV stations once broadcast it as one of their Saturday Afternoon Creature Feature kind of things once, when I was like six years old. And I remember being scared by it, and so I always remembered it as this super-gory bloody monster movie.

I just watched the MST3K ep this afternoon and.....Dang, I was scared of THAT?
