1) Stick with the video, it improves steadily.

B. If this guy doesn't work in the advertising realm, or at least some subset of design/video editing, then he's in the wrong field.

My s/o had a Suzuki Samurai of similar vintage, and it was fun. Maybe not that much fun, but pretty fun.

But is it an '88 Dodge Aires?

Totally 'shopped.

Thanks for posting this, I'd seen it linked elsewhere but didn't think it would be worth clicking. It was.

In space, you wouldn't be able to hear the dramatic music, actually.

I dunno if I'd buy it after seeing all the mileage he put on it for that video.

Also, that moon landing looked rough. I'd want to get the suspension checked out before I made an offer.

I was gonna be all "okay what does this bring to the table that the 1988 Dodge Aries ad doesn't" but clearly my skepticism was unwarranted.

Well done, 1996 Suzuki Vitara owner. Well done.

He's hoping you won't notice the fact that he spilled that drink that time and the center console has been all sticky ever since.

"honey, you aren't going to get another video editing gig by sitting on the couch"

"honey, I know it's hard to find work right now, maybe if you made a nice demo video for your resume?"

"OK, the rent's due and we're short, we're going to have to sell the car"

Can I turn this into a discussion about what small steam cleaner (or do I want a steam vac, terminology...) I should buy to deep clean our 11 year old car's upholstery as well as our carpet before the lease ends? No? Well, askme / memail exists for a reason.

Dang. That.. that was amazing.

I always wanted a Suzuki Samurai and then I found out they were terribly unsafe. =(

You'll just flip over the Suzuki Samurai!

Suzuki Samuri's are only unsafe because of the way people drive them. Like this guy but younger and with more added beer. On the plus side they're super easy to flip back over! Or lift out of wherever you got them stuck.

Bissell little green machine for sure. But look on craigslist, you can get one for $20 probably.

That was delightful.

I drove the soft top version of this Vitara all through uni. It was fun as hell to drive, even though it was deeply precarious around corners. It was my faithful steed through a dozen theatre productions, countless share house moving efforts, myriad beach trips. It vibrated worryingly at highway speeds. It was so light it could be blown off course by passing trucks. It didn't have air conditioning, and during one blistering summer trip I had to pour bottles of water over my head while driving to make it through.

It was definitely not durable, though. The engine block cracked for apparently no reason and it ended up leaking radiator fluid constantly, until it it limped its way to a Toyota dealership, where my dad intimidated a luckless car salesman into accepting it as a trade in for a frankly ludicrous amount of money.

Vale, car. One of your brethren still lives.

I rocked a Suzuki Sidekick through college, grad school and then some. The most "fun" I had in it was the time I did a complete 360 degree spin while driving down a straight but snowy road in backcountry Vermont. I am only here to write this post because there was no one else on the road that early in the morning.

"Hey, it's a great day, let's take the top off the car and go for a ride!"

*45 minutes later*

"Sweet, top removed and stowed in the house. Let's roll!"

*15 minutes later*

"This is really fucking windy, let's go home."
