THAT IS EPIC. And Strurmey-Archer and other 3-speed shift levers! What a great image collection-- visually pornographic. Thanks.

I've always wanted to start a steel frame-building company called Pazuzu Cycles, just because it would make a wicked head badge.

I recognize some of these from Sheriff David Clarke's uniform.

Thanks for the comments, even the Sheriff David Clarke one! I am working on getting more and better pictures up when I have time, so please check back and leave comments on my flickr site also if you want.

Oh man so much bike envy here

I have a couple of old bikes, including a 1963 Schwinn Superior road bike (Chicago steel, baby, currently mostly disassembled, an amazing shade of purple, chrome where it counts, headbadge intact) and a bike collective thing that *might* be a first generation LeTour (repainted, modified in most components, no headbadge). They're lovely, but objects of open scorn on trails and in most bike shops.

Old steel bikes, if not rusting badly, are very long lived machines. And many were made with lots of charming details.

My favorite is the Airman in the American gallery.

Oh not really I love them all

This is awesome, thanks!

Best of the web.

These are just as pretty as some of the details I have seen in brasswork on WWII battleships, where no one was expected to really linger appreciatively.

There's a flickr group, too.
