Keep your CEO out of grad school.I found this article to be provocative. Can the performance of a CEO be judged by just one number (i.e., return to shareholders)? Shouldn't the study be controlling for size of firm, industry characteristics, economic cycle etc.? What do you think?

I think columnists should be judged by the content of one article. In this case, I proclaim that all columnists need a basic understanding of statistics.

And causality to boot. Perhaps the reason behind this is that the manager amazing enough to get noticed for CEO consideration when they have no advanced degree is the type of person who's just incredible at managing. I think that an MBA would help even them.
