Does it go honk?

Believe it or not, Polygon produces lots of great video content that don't feature any brothers. SEO Play is perhaps the greatest of these, where host Simone de Rochefort answers your pressing questions on today's hottest games. Please Retweet documents Polygon video producer Patrick Gill's Sisyphean effort to have Nintendo retweet a very good picture of Toad. A recent series has Russ Frushtick and Simone guide each other playing games blindfolded in Fold Yeller, leading to moments exciting, frustrating, and triumphant. posted by kmz (17 comments total) 13 users marked this as a favorite

Well crap, I hadn't even seen this tweet when I made the post, maybe I should have waited. But man Polygon's entire video team is just killing it these days.

kmz, I've been watching SEO Play since your recommendation in the last thread and it's wonderful. "Call me old, but I miss the days of classic Nintendo, when they presented us with an enormous spikey turtle as if daring us to find ways to fuck it."

Also, the eggs in the Night Trap SEO Play killed me, I am dead now from goofs

Metafilter should try that

(In brothers related news, it looks like Griffin's voice will be in an episode of a bona fide regular television show. Of course just a stepping stone to being in Trolls 2.)

I only really just got into SEO Play with the Arms video, which is pretty good.
"Splatoon, the game in which Nintendo said: what if gun? But non-violent.
With Arms Nintendo said: what if fist? But with gun."
Simone's delivery is great.

If you want more Simone material, the recent Battlegrounds stream with Simone as... Commander? Mother? was hilarious.

I only recall watching one thing with both Simone and Patrick together, but it was as good as you might imagine. they are both my favorite. cannot stress enough that I have not played or wanted to play any video games since we called them computer games and they didn't have any pictures in them, so the only context I have for Polygon videos is what they give me. doesn't matter. still good.

I would like to second naju in that SEO Play is fantastic. The recent episode about Night Trap is particularly good.

The timing here is funny for me, because my wife and I just last night decided to try SEO Play, after watching that Battlegrounds stream and enjoying Simone so much. I'm glad to see this post.

I want to second The Issue at Hand. Always insightful with a great tone, something i wish more YouTube videos would be.

I kept waiting for Simone to break out last year.

When she did...

Simone is so great in everything, and Pat's Please Retweet is the highlight of my early week. It is a Very Good Picture of Toad.

Veering into Brother-included content:
Loving Awful Squad too but jesus Russ can be a pill. I wouldn't mind seeing them get a chicken dinner or two.

I'm hoping for another Jackbox play with the new Party Pack dropping this summer.

I want to second The Issue at Hand.

Yeah, I'm not a comic guy but I like superhero films and IAH does a really good job of summarising superhero backstories (and other comic-related stuff) for the lay-person.

The ones with brothers in them are especially good.

Team Awful was at it again in PUBG yesterday, with Simone setting the rules for "traitor mode" in which one of the four boys was a secret traitor out to kill the other group members but only with a melee weapon or a vehicle. I was skeptical at first, but it turned into a really fun set of games. The stream introduces a new star in the Polygon universe and the final game - despite all of the hiccups getting there - may have given us the world's longest virtual human conga line.
