The Adventures Of Reddy Fox

Riot the Fox has a new tunnel in his backyard. His playmate Castiel the German Shepherd wants to catch him. The result is Pet Fox Gets A New Tunnel! [3m5s]. Literally a tutorial on why foxes are considered sly or wily. Watch to the end to see a great Animal Family Profile Portrait.

There's some great low cornering capability on the new Audi Fox.

I've heard foxes make for pretty destructive and smelly pets but I'll be damned if they're not cute.

Aw, that's wonderful! It took me a minute to see that the fox is wearing a collar - I thought he was holding something in his mouth.

I want to live in the timeline where there's a whole cable channel devoted to fox news.

Fox outwits dogs...see what domestication has done? Foxes are beautiful animals but not really pets for the most part. We have a fox that crosses our yard from one woods to the other, usually with a rabbit or squirrel in her mouth We think she is a mother with a family to feed somewhere. yes, this is the only Fox news I want to see.

I'll never understand the people who, when presented with the incredible array of responsible, appropriate, domesticated pet options, will insist on bringing a wild f*cking animal into their homes and neighborhoods. If one of my neighbors did this there would be strife until they stopped.
Yeah foxes are cute. That's great, now get that thing away from me and put it back in the woods.

I'm pretty sure this is why Hagrid lives a little bit away from the main Hogwarts campus.

The quick brown fox did not, in fact, jump over the lazy dog.

Disappointing.

Starting in 1959, Soviet geneticist started a program to domesticate red foxes.

It is reported that you can get one of these domesticated foxes for about $8k.

"The Soviet (and later, Russian) study out there in Siberia did eventually breed a domesticated silver fox (read: a red fox with silver fur) that's pretty close to our dream fox. It loves and craves attention from people, it'll lick your face, it'll cuddle with you, it'll wag its giant puffy tail when it sees you, it'll play with toys in your house while you try to take the perfect Instagram picture of it. Wild foxes will not do this; they will either run away from you or attempt to bite your face off. Tame foxes may not flee or attack, but they also won't cuddle. These domesticated foxes, on the other hand, have between 30 and 35 generations of selective breeding behind them, with careful monitoring to ensure a lack of inbreeding, and they're not even close to wild--in fact, they probably wouldn't survive in the wild."

I wonder if this is one of those. Sure seems friendly enough.

From the FAQ on the Tumblr:
Is Riot a domestic Russian fox? Did you catch him in the wild?

-No and no. He’s a US bred fox bred for pet purposes.

Once again hippybear shows his bias against dogs, this time by posting video of a fox making dogs look foolish. For shame.

We love dogs precisely because of how dumb they are. A smart dog shouldn't put up with our shit.
