Red West passes at 81 He was an American actor, film stuntman and songwriter. He was a close high school friend of rock and roll singer Elvis Presley. He is probably best known to American film audiences for his role as Red in Road House, alongside Patrick Swayze. He had a co-starring role in the TV series Ba Ba Black Sheep (later Black Sheep Squadron) in the late 1970s.

Robert “Red” Gene West was a friend of Elvis Presley and was a member of “The Memphis Mafia.” He and Elvis first met in high school and remained close in the years that followed. West also worked as a stuntman and appeared in 16 of Elvis’ films.
