I'm kind of bummed that he only looked at Joaquin Phoenix from Walk the Line, whose accent I feel was merely OK, when Reese Witherspoon absolutely nailed June Carter.

I went down a little bit of a rabbit hole trying to figure what on Earth is going with Jackie Kennedy's accent, and ended up here, where we learn that the same general heading covers her, Katherine Hepburn, and Darth Vader.

This is so interesting. Never knew it existed but it explains a lot about many characters in pop culture with "unplaced" (?) accents.

It's a little thing, but the idea that there are people out there making an S sound by tipping their tongues down is weirding me out.

I enjoyed this very much and his other videos - about made-up languages and actors doing regional dialects - are also very interesting.

I saw the video, and spent about 20 minutes practicing making my tongue-tip-down S sound like my natural tongue-tip-up S. It made me thirsty.

I think I've made this comment about casting Obi-Wan in the prequels before, but when I watched The Man in the White Suit I kept thinking the main actor was Ewan McGregor.
