Half-Life 3 Confirmed

Marc Laidlaw was formerly employed by Valve and was one of the main creative forces behind the Half-Life series of games. Earlier this week, he posted a letter from "Gertrude Fremont, Ph.D." on his website. If you squint at it, one might take it to be the story outline for the unreleased Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Since Episode 2's release in 2007, Episode 3's long (and possibly permanent) stay in game development limbo has turned it into a meme, a community touchpoint, and shorthand for PC gaming's most famous piece of vaporware. Laidlaw claims he's operating as a fan, but many have taken this as a sign of closure for the series.
