What's just South of Belarus?

The largest Russian military training exercise since the end of the Cold War is set to kick off tomorrow in Belarus. There is concern that the Russians are deploying more troops than they intend to withdraw at the end of the exercise, leaving a permanent base next to NATO countries.

I'm personally more concerned with the nation directly South of Belarus, the Ukraine. As soon as the 2018 thaws hits, what's to stop the renewed Red Army from pivoting South from Minsk, West from Russia proper, and North from the Crimea? Trump?

It's also a good way to get a lot of fresh "little green men" to the forward areas, even if it's not a prelude to an open increase in permanent deployment.
