The Mega Builder of Garry's Mod by Craig Pearson ““How did they do that?” isn’t something you often ask yourself when looking at a Garry’s Mod screenshot. It’s generally obvious how it's done when you can see the joins. But I asked myself that when I came across Vioxtar’s [DeviantArt] work, because he doesn't build typical Garry's Mod contraptions. He builds worlds. Asking myself wouldn't get me any answers, so I took an extra step and asked him. His answers are as detailed and impressive as the work he produces, and gave me a whole new perspective on what it takes to turn Garry's Mod into art. He's broke the game more times than you can imagine, lost sleep, and worked for months on a single scene trying to bring the sandbox to life. I hope you enjoy his story.”

This was sort of confusing to interpret at first, being unfamiliar with Garry's Mod, but: neat!

being unfamiliar with Garry's Mod

Just in case anyone else is not familiar with Garry's Mod:
Garry's Mod [YouTube][Trailer]is a sandbox physics game created by Garry Newman and developed by his company, Facepunch Studios. Garry's Mod was originally a mod for Valve Corporation's Half-Life 2, but was later made into a standalone release in 2006 for Microsoft Windows, published by Valve Corporation. Later updates saw an OS X port, added in 2010, and a version for Linux in 2013.”

These are really beautiful by the way. I've never bothered with Garry's Mod because I find these types of games are just a bit too much for my brain. But I love the craft and detail he puts into these pieces. He really is creating a unique world.

We have a copy of Gary's mod on steam that kiddo plays with all the time, but hadn't realized you could build whole universes. That's awesome.

These are amazing. Now, are they also available as virtual worlds that you can move through? Maybe there are fly-through videos? I would enjoy that.

You can also play Pictionary and (in TTT) sneak up on and subdue a friend with the Snuggle Struggle weapon.
