The Truly Great Pumpkin!!!

Autumn arrives and with it comes a cornucopia, but pumpkins, real pumpkins! Utah oh, and maybe everywhere has a fascination with large pumpkins, and the Utah State Fair has a yearly contest. Usually these pumpkins are not so much pumpkin like, but rugged and gnarly, not the pumpkin of a Halloween doorstep. However, this one is a ~2000 lb chunk of punkin' perfection, grown in a hot house not by a farmer, but by a guy with a passion.

I will always love the Charlie Brown Halloween Special for teaching my daughter to yell out at innappropriate times, "I demand restitution!"

We now return to regular programming.

The kid who played Sally had some of the best line readings.

I see a pumpkin-based re-imagining of James and the Giant Peach in this guy's future. To be fair, if he tried to eat through this thing it'd probably be bland as hell; the smaller the pumpkin, the better the taste.

That is a pretty darned big pumpkin. Wow.

Also, I like that guy's attitude. Not trying to be the best, just trying to beat his personal best.
