John Robb has deep insights into the forces at work shaping the 21st Century. Here is his take on American Politics I have long appreciated the insight by John when it comes to understanding the disruptive forces at work in our world. I think this is a must-read for understanding the rise and reaction to the divide ripping the US apart.

This model is bad. The writer's 'bad boys' in support of trump are framed as a collection of independent cells with no agenda beyond change, despite the fact that the alt right seeks to preserve and strengthen already existing white supremacy. His 'mean girls' suppose that what he thinks is the 'alt-left' is basically a conservative movement, fundamentally allied with existing powerful institutions.

We also of course have a nightmare vision of Stalinist/Maoist purges because of course Americans as a body aren't deeply committed to worshipping wealth.
