After a video surfaced of comedian Owen Benjamin talking about transgender children – and the fact that he thinks it is insane for parents to allow children as young as eight to take hormone blockers, even joking that he was feminine enough as a child that some would have thought he was transgender – he had a standup gig at UCONN cancelled, as the University said Benjamin’s views weren’t in keeping with their values. - via huffpost

Full talk (gets cut off a little after an hour for some reason)

This post was deleted for the following reason: "Comedian mocks children, isn't funny" and accompanying LEFTY BOGEYMEN ON CAMPUS, SILENCED ALL MY LIFE isn't going to make for a good discussion, sorry. -- Eyebrows McGee

If you read people's stories of "how I knew I was transgender" or even "how I knew I was gay", you'll often find that people knew about themselves when they were little kids. I was an 8-year-old cis-boy who had crushes on girls, and the only reason nobody questioned it was because it's quote-unquote "normal".

It wasn't a phase.
