Comedian Steven Wright appeared on The 'Late' Craig Ferguson show 20 times. Here are 2.5 hours of them.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Heya, I dig Steven Wright but this kicks off with some pretty yeesh jokes and isn't landing great. Maybe something with a more selectively curated/vetted from smaller bits and without things like vagina and baby prostitute jokes as what people are gonna stumble into on first viewing. -- cortex

The introductory joke/song is about a dog with 2 vaginas though: It gets better after the first 2 minutes

This just made me miss CraigyFerg as a tv presence. I like his xm show, the youtube show with his wife was interesting, but damn do I miss him in late night.

Also. The joke about the dog...actually made me laugh which probably makes me a horrible person but good play on dog names/dog naming conventions.

OMG, there's now compilations of CraigyFerg with like, all of his popular guests. This is a goldmine!

Also, also. Ferguson catching Steven Wright off guard by asking how his dog was.

I was completely unfamiliar with this guy. I got past the dog with two vaginas and into a joke that revolves around referring to a baby as being a "little strumpet" who would grow up to be a (slur for sex worker) and this guy is singing that his baby self was wondering if this infant girl would remember that he was her first.

Count me the fuck out for this shit.

This is shit. It's not funny to joke about rape. It's not funny even if it's disguised as babies and dressed up with song.

It's not funny. With all the me too on my facebook and the huge thing I want to post there and can't, I wasn't girded for finding baby rape jokes on metafilter today.

I should have been.

I'm sure plenty of this hasn't aged well, but I do quite miss Craig Ferguson.

Baby rape jokes ? Hyperbole much ?

Pendragon. Nope, not really that hyperbolic. Actually an example of how females are treated as objects from birth.

Dammit, I really didn't want my favorite comedian posted on Metafilter. He doesn't fit this place's moral sphere.

I started doing standup comedy at a bar in the past few months. I live in a small town, and I definitely don't fit the moral sphere of the open mic audience there. I've evolved into a one-liner comic because I'm a weird kid who's younger than everyone else that older people can't possibly empathize with, it's just easier for me to be funnier this way.

Adapting to an audience is really important as a comic. That said, I make a lot of terrible jokes that make me uncomfortable, but they're my best jokes at the open mic. When I finally got invited to do a clean show at a different venue, it was wonderful, I could just cut all the jokes that made me uncomfortable.

I remember a comment about how Metafilter is a place for women to relax after a day of being harassed by people, and I've taken that to heart. I believe it's really important for people to realize that humor can have a terrible effect on other people here, especially with all that's going around. (with #metoo this really isn't the best time to push the *hyperbole much* argument).

I don't go here for comedy. And I know that Steven Wright makes a bunch of terrible jokes and comes from a different time. We need to find more appropriate audiences to show our favorite things.
