Rolling Stone publishes an investigation into Ron Jeremy's alleged sexual misconduct.

Allegations include rape, groping, and date back decades. In June, Ginger Banks published a youtube video chronicling the allegations against him that served as the starting point for the Rolling Stone article.

Ron's full statement in reply to the article is published at the bottom of it, and is worth reading. It includes the line:
If anyone continues those claims, that is defamation. I will sue them in court.
Although he insists he has never raped, he enthusiastically acknowledges that he gropes women.

In response to the pending article, the industry trade group the Free Speech Coalition rescinded the 2009 "Positive Image" award, ManyVids removed him as host of their upcoming awards show, and Ron will not be appearing at any further EXXOTICA EXPO events.

Jeremy refutes these accusations, claiming that all the interactions he's had have been consensual.

No, he denies the allegations. Saying "it's her word against mine" isn't a refutation.

Okay, I admit to seeing a few porns back when I was 18-24 and pathetic and I recall that EVERY appearance of Ron Jeremy followed the plot of him being this nerdy, ugly guy who never got the girl but at the end, she went to him for sympathy and he pulled out a piece of equipment larger than any of the handsome guys and Love (and Size) Conquered All. It was a major part of reminding me that Real Life is NOT like porn movies. (I have admitted making inappropriate moves twice in my 20s; both times I did end up taking "NO" for an answer, with one of the ladies becoming a friend and the other becoming my wife... but I digress) Years later, I saw his name on a VHS tape and was curious if he was still playing the nerd... he definitely was not, and any appreciation I had for him evaporated. But it always strained my suspension of disbelief that ANY male porn performer could be a "nice guy" in real life or just behind the scenes.

I actually don't have a problem imagining that there are male porn performers who behave like actual professionals both on- and off-set. But I doubt very many of them ever become household names on the level of dudes like Ron Jeremy and James Deen. There's a certain combination of self-regard and lack of empathy that seems to correlate well with both a predilection towards sexual assault and "success" in most fields.

This seems a lot like a very gross and well timed "OF COURSE!" deflection. Can we nuke this and put a Terry Crews post in its stead?
