Good news, everyone!

Dave Pell (Managing Editor, the Internet) has produced a special edition of his newsletter: the reader-supplied NextDraft Good News Only Pre-Thanksgiving Extravaganza.

Amongst the stories:

Delayed flight turns into Newfoundland kitchen party at Pearson International Airport
Newfoundlanders and Labradorians kept up their reputation for making the best of a bad situation Monday night, when a group of them turned a delayed flight into an impromptu singalong.

Passengers had just found out their WestJet flight from Toronto to St. John's was going to be delayed for just over 30 minutes.

So, Sheldon Thornhill thought it would be a good time to break out his accordion, and fellow musician Sean Sullivan opened his guitar case to ramp up the fun.
Watch people freak out about holding a baby for the first time
Having complete control over a little human for the first time can be nerve wracking, but some brave souls were up to the task of holding a baby in front of a slow motion camera from Cut and the results are precious.
And because no post is complete without a dog link:

Couple Has The Best Reaction After Stray Dog Crashes Their Wedding
The dog was coaxed back outside by guests, and with order now restored, the ceremony went forward with the actual bride in place. But as the couple read their vows, the furry wedding crasher returned. "The dog entered and laid down to sleep on my veil," Marília said.

This time, no one had the heart to turn the dog back out into the storm — certainly not Marília. She was more than happy to share the spotlight, and a bit of her gown, with the sweet pup.

"It was a very pleasant surprise for me, because I love animals," she said. "I liked it very much."

aw, Johnny Wallflower, I saw this today because I subscribe to Pell's newsletter, and I teared up a few times and felt a definite lift of spirits and thought "wow, I would love to get the Good News version every day," and I thought of you and how often you bring the good news here to Metafilter, and I'd just like to thank you so much for your efforts. It makes a difference. 💖🙏💐㊗️

Paramedics fulfil dying woman's final wish to see ocean one last time
A touching photo of paramedics helping fulfil a dying woman’s final wish to see the ocean one last time has touched hearts around the world.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics went “above and beyond” to bring the palliative care patient, who was lying on a stretcher, to the beach.

Woman raises more than $60K for homeless man who helped her
A New Jersey woman who was helped by a homeless man after she ran out of gas on an interstate in Philadelphia has raised more than $60,000 for the good Samaritan.

Kate McClure, 27, started the Gofundme.com campaign earlier this month after she said she ran out of gas on Interstate 95 and a homeless man, Johnny Bobbitt Jr., walked a few blocks and bought her some with his last $20.

In the Next Draft the day before this one went out, Dave asked for suggestions of feel good stories. I sent him a quick e-mail with a link to this MetaFilter thread along with a note saying something along the lines of, "It's not uncommon for me to find a significant amount of overlap in stories mentioned in MetaFilter and Next Draft."

At the moment, I'm basking in the recursiveness of this all.
