Just a friendly reminder, given the climate we're in right now, that Bill Murray's last wife divorced him in part because he hit her in the face and threatened to kill her.

Maybe I've just been caught on a humorless day, but playing "man singing a woman's song" for laughs strikes me as really outdated, hack humor.
(I'm not suggesting that's where this post is coming from, which seems to be a love of musical theater. But the manner in which some of these are played suggests that "lol, it's a dude doing pretty lady stuff" was the only motivation.)

Thanks Krazor. I asked a mod whether pointing out that fact would constitute threadshitting/derailing, and they said nope. I agree that we shouldn't be giving Bill Murray a pass.
It's odd that it isn't being talked about more (though perfectly explicable – people heart Murray). Anecdata: when the revelations about creepy men in Hollywood were coming every day, a friend of mine told me, "The one that would really hurt would be Bill Murray." I was like, uh, that toothpaste has left the tube.

As much as I think the music to West Side Story is tremendous, I'd love to see it revisited by a composer who shows any evidence that they have ever listened to actual Puerto Rican music.
