Lucas the Spider is a test character being developed by animator Joshua Slice, voiced by his nephew (also named Lucas). He has produced two brief videos so far: in which he introduces himself and in which he politely asks to come inside.

Yes, that is an adorable little spider.

But now Youtube thinks that I think that spiders are adorable, so now I have a couple of weeks of terrifying monstrosities (personal opinion, your opinions may vary) to deal with every time I want to see cute cat videos.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one smitten by the cuteness of jumping spiders...

Adorable, but I can't help but think of an earlier someone who has a lot of other great qualities as well.

Obligatory scratching spider, because why not?
And from our friends the peacock spiders, a message for the holidays.

This is so cute! I'm neutral-to-negative on spiders (depending on size) but jumping spiders are adorable, and his nephew's voice is just perfect.

We do not need cute spiders, because we already have cats.

That's how you know you've slipped into an alternate universe. Everything seems the same, but the Internet is stuffed full of cute spider videos instead of cats.

Cats are just big jumping spiders that have learned to keep their four extra legs retracted while we're around.

I just recently learned that there's a community that keeps jumping spiders as pets, and though I adore jumping spiders, the idea of keeping several feels weird to me, but it's something else for my brain to wonder over, far outside the daily hell of the news cycle, so ok: How I ended up with pet jumping spiders
