A new system is being developed by the Railway Technical Research Institute in Japan to equip trains with sound effects to scare deer away from the tracks and prevent collisions. Researchers have seen the number of deer sightings go down by 45%.

This is awesome, and I'd love to see this implemented in on the road motor vehicles, too. Animal collisions on roads are bad for animals and people, particularly in rural areas, where there are more animals and fewer other people to come to the aid of either human or animal.

They are also experimenting with giving trains the Eye of the Tiger.
