Not so quick on the uptake, eh Ann? Looks like Ann Landers may have been taken in by an urban legend. So those of you hoping that this fad spreads to your neighborhood, you may want to cancel that X10 order now.

Urban legend? Or, a "fad" that has actually been around since the 90s? Could this be some fundies living in denial and planting a fake press release using net-lingo as their rationalization?

Urban legend huh? You keep believing what you want and I'll keep believing what I want...

Now, as for the parties. I hear that they are all thrown by this girl.

From Ann's answer:
As long as you trust the mother of these girls to supervise for the duration of the party, I see no harm in it. Meanwhile, ask your daughter why she finds this such an attractive idea. You might learn something.

Hmmm... granted we were all a bunch of closet bisexuals but when we threw nude slumber parties it was mostly concerning bewbie size, how to reach the almighty O and going through the Joy of Sex manual.

When I was 9 or 10 I had a couple of guys for an overnight and we played strip poker. . .and from what I remember 2 of the 3 of us had boners for a lot of it. I am of the generation in which a 9 or 10 year old boy had no clue what it was all about.

I remember the next morning, us all kidding eachother about it. I wonder was going through my mom's mind. . . .I hope that she didn't write to Abby or Ann about it.

Gosh, MeFi brings about such repressed memories at times.

Ubarn legend or not, I'm waiting for this to become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
