When I lived in DC, I saw a businesswoman on a unicycle, a cellphone in one hand, an umbrella and a newspaper in the other, and a satchel across her chest. She seemed to be peddling twice as hard as she would have to, had she been on a bicycle. And I was amazed she was able to navigate through DC rush-hour traffic on a cycle without handle-bar steering.
