There's going to be a new novel in the Buffyverse, set some years after the end of the TV show, with a new cast of characters.

Get to know the twins being raised at the Watcher's academy, who aren't fond of Buffy at all.

I'm afraid that Joss Whedon's feet of clay have soured me on the Buffyverse. I'm not able to support the franchise any more. I don't want to put money in the pocket of a jerk.

Hmm... doesn’t the heroine be being the last slayer ever kind of contradict the whole point of the show’s finale? Or did they undo that in the comic books? Or should I just not worry about continuity in a novelization of a TV version of a movie?

Yeah, this looks like a follow-on to the comics series. There's some reference to Buffy destroying all the magic in the world somehow.

I am mildly interested in this, but I think the writer is trying too hard to channel Buffy Summers, rather than the actual pov character Nina. It's all very quippy and Whedony, and I think it's possible to write in the Buffyverse without writing like Whedon.

If it shows up at my library, I might read it, but I won't likely pay money for it.

Hmm. I wondered how this felt with the Fray comic, then remembered that the Buffy comic and the Angel comic contradicted each other about the identity of a villain, so, well, the Buffyverse isn't too focused on continuity and I should just relax.

It's been a long time, but wasn't Fray the first Slayer in hundreds of years? There's been an established gap in the lineage for a long time. I'm not crazy about it but it's there.

Kiersten White has made some appearances on the SlayerFest 98 podcast and she knows her Buffy and pop culture, this week's episode with her and Anthony Oliveira on Buffy vs. Dracula was a good one!

Where's my "Anya brings about the collapse of the Byzantine Empire" novel?

Oh, wait- I was supposed to write that. Yeah, I should really get on that.
