Great post title. My daughter goes to bed around 8-8:30 but sunset isn't until after 9 these days. I asked her if the sunlight bothers her and she told me that now she reads until it gets too dark and then sleeps.

Ooh, I hadn't been looking too far ahead, so this is great! If what we're already excited about digging into this summer is reasonable to share, I'm currently reading and very happy so far with the sequel to Sufficiently Advanced Magic by Andrew Rowe. It's an unashamedly JRPG-inspired series from someone who worked at Blizzard, Cryptic, and Obsidian that focuses on the main character basically 'leveling up' by figuring out things about the world's magic system and puzzle dungeons. So it's definitely let-your-geek-flag-fly material--but at the same time, there's at least a little thought given to diversity, because the author cares about positive representation. The series wound up at the top of the r/Fantasy poll about self-published books someone posted today. Next up, I expect to try The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang, recently mentioned on AskMe and recommended in the Tor.com round-up earlier this week of best books of 2018--so far--but I'll enjoy digging into these links for more.

I blew through the first two Murderbot Diaries in a couple days, and now I’m sinking into Armistice.

Everyone should be reading Amberlough and Armistice and then we can wait for the third one.

(I also just finished The Grey Bastards but emphatically do not recommend)

PedanticFilter: Like Autumn, each advancing day of Summer has slightly less light to read by - - that statement would only be true of Winter and Spring.
