These are lovely mostly because all the kids look so happy. For an adult version of this, Peter Menzel's 1995 book "Material World: A Global Family Portrait" is good. Several photos in this article. It turns out more to be a reflection on what wealth means globally.

This makes me curious as to whether each child is photographed with all their toys (material world style) or just with their favorite toys.
