This doesn't seem quite right. It should read:

Placing Bids
There are four ways to bid in this sale:

4. Sail on, sing a song, carry on.

Black Sabbath Frontman Ronnie James Dio

That's just a really weird way to refer to both Dio and the "Black Sabbath Frontman".

His penmanship is ever so lovely! (see postcard to parents).

This is pretty good:

DIO FAN ART STAINED GLASS PLAQUE

A stained glass plaque depicting the cove art for the Dio album Holy Diver.

13 1/4 by 13 1/4 inches

$300-500

It basically does what it says on the tin, but the priest's face looks a little like Homer Simpson's. "A" for effort, though.

I'm actually looking for a stool for the studio, maybe I'll get Dio's stool. Needs more ass-padding, though.

We sold that exact spider bracelet @ the occult store I used to work at in the 90's. I want to say it was $16-$20? There was also a variant with a glass eye in place of the spider. And red leather. But if it potentially has DIO CELLS on it, $450 sounds reasonable.

I mean, it’s an adorable garden gnome, so… not metal? And yet it does play a real role in Dio lore: The Holy Diver singer cut off his thumb while installing the gnome back in 2003. Is that hardcore enough for you? (Est. $200-300)

If you're wondering, as I did, how Dio severed his thumb with a garden gnome…
Rockdetector.com: Last year, Internet rumours surfaced that you had severed your thumb in a gardening accident. While I'm sure a lot of fans initially brushed this off as unlikely, it then transpired to be true. What actually happened on that day?

Ronnie James Dio: "It was a killer garden gnome. I'm not joking, although I certainly wish I was. What happened was that I was in my yard trying to place this garden gnome on a slope. This is a seriously heavy piece of garden ornament, probably 60lbs or so. Anyway, it fell over, I fell into the shrubbery and then began to slide down to the bottom of the hill. I was trying to stop myself with my feet but put my hand out at the wrong moment. You can understand this all happened in a split second. My hand landed on a rock, and the gnome landed on it, squashing my thumb between the rock and the gnome. Basically it was crushed and took the end of my thumb off. I just looked at my hand and the first thought that flashed into my mind was, 'How on earth am I going to make my devil horn sign now? That's my trademark!' I wasn't worried about the injury, more concerned with my career."

No cape and scepter? I guess Jack Black already got 'em.

I would totally buy this and hang it up in my kitchen window if I saw it in a thrift store or at a flea market or something.

It's really endearing how much Ronnie James Dio liked fan art.

For some of the musical instruments, I feel like the estimates don't take into account that these were owned and used by Dio. You'd pay up to $2k or more for any schmo's 1959 Melody Maker, for instance. Ditto this JCM 800.

Then again, this bass has a pretty high starting bid, so what do I know.

I don't believe I own a bible, but if I did it would totally be this one.

A pale rose Shetland wool sweater. A Deans of Scotland label is present. Size medium. With photocopy of a 1970s image of Ronnie James Dio napping in the sweater.

Worth pointing out that there were live, real dragons in his estate -- how could there not be? -- but that the California government won't allow them to be resold so they don't appear in the auction.

Those of you considering buying some of his clothing to expand your own wardrobe, be warned that he was 5'4'' which means that the awesome spider pants which I would totally rock are far too small for me.

This sucks.

I sent this link to my husband and I just now realized I should have hid his credit card beforehand. Damn.

I'm happy that MeFi has brought this to my attention.

I'm sad that now I'm going to be bidding against the lot of you for some random Dio bullshit, that I'll be bidding on just to say that it was Ronnie James Dio's.

For better or worse, I'm much larger than he, so you all can go nuts on the clothes.

I think this one is even better. In the medium of stained glass, you don't often see a monster drowning a priest.
