Go to her timeline, start with the "IS IT JUST ME" tweet, and read downward (i.e. in reverse chronological order). A hint:

Not so much context as instructions -- can you talk to the mods about changing the link in the post or add a second so it actually goes to the place that has the thing we're supposed to be looking at? The single tweet and its replies doesn't contain this pattern.

Yes, the replies coming to the final tweet are making it confusing. Go here - her timeline, and starting from the "IS IT JUST ME..." Tweet, read the first word of each tweet she has sent.

Easy come, easy go.

I'm reading through all her tweets that are part of the lyrics. It's pretty impressive and probably took some planning. For example, the 5 back to back Gallileo tweets are aimed at flat-earthers and styled as a disconnected twitter thread with number designation (#/#). Scaramouch was also humorous.

And the first Bismillah is "BISMILLAH! NO! WE WILL NOT LET YOU GO!! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO" to the "quote the lyrics you'd scream" meme, which almost threw me off, but she actually keeps going. Again, impressive!

Oh fuck, is it six no's or seven?
posted by carsonb at 2:35 PM on September 20, 2018

Mamma told me it was seven, and she never lies.

M.I.A is a rapper from England, she is still alive, and I wonder if we can talk her into doing a cover of Bohemian Rhapsody?
posted by nubs at 2:56 PM on September 20, 2018

Mamma Cass died a little over a year before Bohemian Rhapsody's debut, so there's no hope of ever hearing her take on it.
posted by Mr.Encyclopedia at 3:11 PM on September 20, 2018

MIA hasn't been around lately, I wonder if she's making new music
posted by numaner at 3:12 PM on September 20, 2018

Mamma tells me there is a documentary about her out today.
posted by nubs at 3:30 PM on September 20, 2018

MIA seems like an interesting artist. I'll have to check out that documentary.
posted by Mr.Encyclopedia at 3:33 PM on September 20, 2018

Let me say the same.

Me is proud of you guys for still carrying this through.

Beelzebub curse me for not previewing before commenting!
posted by numaner at 4:33 PM on September 20, 2018

Has that edit window come in handy then?
posted by Mr.Encyclopedia at 4:52 PM on September 20, 2018

A safe bet, that.
posted by ook at 4:57 PM on September 20, 2018

Devil of it all is that if I missed the edit window and actually bothered a mod, it probably would've been cortex and I'll never be able to live that down
posted by numaner at 5:08 PM on September 20, 2018

Put away your anxieties, I'm sure Cortex would be willing to lend his aid to an endeavor such as this. Those other mods, though, are anyone's guess.
posted by Mr.Encyclopedia at 5:23 PM on September 20, 2018

Aside : I did have to request a duplicate to be deleted above, but not sure which mod helped out
posted by numaner at 5:29 PM on September 20, 2018

For these noble purposes consider it the collective work of all mod-kind.
posted by cortex at 6:19 PM on September 20, 2018 [2 favorites]

Me thinks the mods work extremely hard for this site and for that I am thankful.
posted by Mr.Encyclopedia at 7:05 PM on September 20, 2018

For future reference, is there a consensus on whether a quote of a previous comment for reply purposes should be counted or not, or just avoided to prevent any ambiguity?
posted by NMcCoy at 8:12 PM on September 20, 2018

Me thinks we should avoid that, NMcoy; it would muddy things up a bit.
posted by nubs at 8:43 PM on September 20, 2018

For future consideration - we record our own version of the song, each person contributing one word.
posted by nubs at 8:51 PM on September 20, 2018

Me oh my that's a good idea. We can post it to that music part of the site everyone forgets about.
posted by Mr.Encyclopedia at 9:28 PM on September 20, 2018

So glad you agree.
posted by nubs at 9:47 PM on September 20, 2018

You think we should start now, or wait for this post to wrap up first?
posted by NMcCoy at 9:50 PM on September 20, 2018

Think I'm going to need some time off after this is done.

You certainly deserve it!
posted by NMcCoy at 1:19 AM on September 21, 2018

Can we do a recording of this that is mostly spoken word, do you think?
posted by nubs at 8:11 AM on September 21, 2018

Stone cold serious, this arrangement of the song was pretty good I thought.
posted by nubs at 9:25 AM on September 21, 2018

Me, I like the kazoo version.
posted by ook at 9:59 AM on September 21, 2018

And I'm realizing I have no knowledge or idea on how to go about putting a recording of everyone speaking a word of the song, so maybe I should start with that instead of musing on musical accompaniment.
posted by nubs at 10:44 AM on September 21, 2018

Spit in a bottle of denatured alcohol, carefully extract the cloudy white DNA mass and transport to the nearest axlotl tank, apply the usual genetic adjustments and in five to ten years of accelerated gestation/maturation you'll have your very own vat-grown recording engineer.

There may be a simpler way, but that would work.

In my naivety, I had thought that learning Audacity might be easier
posted by nubs at 11:01 AM on September 21, 2018

My plans don't always favor simplicity
posted by ook at 11:10 AM on September 21, 2018

Eye, feet, lungs, etc were all totally messed up when I tried to genetically engineer a cloned version of myself with specific skills. Much easier to use a hyperlearning rig on yourself or a friend while aleep (note: This will overwrite important portions of one's personality).
posted by Mr.Encyclopedia at 11:13 AM on September 21, 2018

So we shouldn't try the William Shatner version?
posted by numaner at 11:18 AM on September 21, 2018

You can hear him trying to resist actually singing
posted by numaner at 11:19 AM on September 21, 2018

Think there's other spoken versions out there?
posted by numaner at 11:21 AM on September 21, 2018

You have destroyed me with that Shatner link. If Shatner has done the spoken word cover, is there any point in trying?
posted by nubs at 11:23 AM on September 21, 2018

Can say there's really no point in trying anything, now that I've seen this literal version
posted by numaner at 11:25 AM on September 21, 2018

Love it though, it's pretty well done
posted by numaner at 11:26 AM on September 21, 2018

Me, I'm liking the instrumental covers - perhaps because I'm tired of the words for some reason.
posted by nubs at 11:32 AM on September 21, 2018 [1 favorite]

And I just noticed they forgot verse 4 (the one we're on right now!)
posted by numaner at 11:34 AM on September 21, 2018

Leave off the words and the music is still pretty amazing
posted by numaner at 11:34 AM on September 21, 2018

Me? I can see why you're not into the words at the moment, this has been quite the effort. We're almost done, though!
posted by Mr.Encyclopedia at 11:34 AM on September 21, 2018

To be even more out there, check out this MIDI version, it's kind of amusing
posted by numaner at 11:36 AM on September 21, 2018

Die while trying, is what I thought about this effort. Now we're almost there.

posted by nubs at 11:58 AM on September 21, 2018

Just from those trailers I really wanna see the movie now, before I had a mild interest because of Rami Malek, but it actually looks really good.

Gotta admit, I don't actually know any of the other band members' names
posted by numaner at 12:04 PM on September 21, 2018

Get into the wiki rabbit hole, I did, and found out that the film originally was going to have Sasha Baron Cohen, but he left due to creative differences, then Ben Whishaw (Q in the latest Bond movies) was going to star, and eventually Malek got the role
posted by numaner at 12:14 PM on September 21, 2018

Right, the original band members are Freddy, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon

Outta this world is what Queen was in the 70s. They did a lot to bring prog rock mainstream and their œuvre contains such a wide assortment of genres and styles. They had amazing talent.
