If you don't catch the very end of the video, he's selling Sept. 21st shirts. 100% of the proceeds go to RAINN, RAICES, & the Nat'l Center for Trans Equality.

Hah, I went looking not half an hour ago after a friend posted the original EW&F video to their timeline, and Demi's feed was just "why y'all tweeting me countdowns?"

i am so lost.... is this a "weird al" style parody of a different song? Or is this a song that someone is just very happy about dancing to every year?

I'm sorry! I like it... please give me context so I can like it even more!

The original for rebent: Earth, Wind & Fire (YouTube, I am announcing that wrong but I am announcing it)

I have been trying to improve my bass groove lately, and this is one of the songs I like to warm up with, so this is super extra delightful today.

I have waited for this all day and seriously started crying when I saw the message at the end about the money from shirts going to RAINN, RAICES, & the National Center for Transgender Equality. Good job, Demi Adejuyigbe.

The original song is "September" by Earth, Wind, and Fire. The first lines of that song are "Do you remember / The 21st day of September".

Two years ago, Demi Adejuyigbe, comedy writer and internet funny person, posted this video to his Twitter with a remixed version of the song that just had that one line chopped up and repeated over and over. People really liked it. Last year, people wondered if he would do another video. And, indeed, he did a follow-up video. And now, here we are with the third version.

Though I loathe this song as a result of having had to sing it in a cover band a bajillion times, I find the video highly amusing. Surprise clarinet FTW!

This brings me such joy.

For the person who never has enough on-going podcasts: Demi cohosts the podcast Punch Up the Jam where he and Miel Bredouw take a song that could be better and punch it up after breaking down the song and discussing how it could be punched up.

Their punch-ups so far are here.
