The hoopla gets deeper.Upon learning that "Sarah Hubert" was a non-person, registrar AITDomains simply canceled the registration to hoopla.com, releasing it into the wild, where it was picked up by someone from Taiwan. They gave no notice to Leslie or anyone else that I can tell, so that she had no opportunity to grab the name back for herself.

Farking idiots. I can't believe that they didn't contact Leslie (or her lawyer) given that someone stole the domain from her.

You would think that AITDomains would want to help clear up the situation in order to prevent a negative backlash because of Leslie's hellish experience. The have no business sense (or common sense) at all.

Why feigning? Are we not allowed to be outraged by such ineptitude and the fact that Leslie got screwed out her domain name?

Yeah, who's feigning? This is ridiculous—it just went from bad to worse. What exactly is involved in becoming an ICANN certified registrar? The whole thing stinks.

Alas, probably all we can do is pay The Man to snag our domains back for us. If this happens to anyone in future, I would say this is an action of perhaps not first, but certainly early resort.

I believe there are other such services, but I don't know specifically. Ideally, some ISP with second-tier registrar tendrils and a good-citizenship outlook could set this up to be done at cost.
