If it wasn't the AP reporting this, I would dismiss as clickbait hysteria. If true, than we've take one more giant step towards sci-fi dystopia , the ED-209 is probably the next horseman to appear.
To me, the rationale given for editing DNA is the scariest, darkest part of this story.
